Monthly Archives: June 2013

3 weeks and counting every day

For those following the septic knee saga, it has come down to this. After religiously doing PT for over 5 months, my Orthopedic doctors decided that there was unlikely to be any more improvement to my days of maneuvering with a walker only.
The decision was made to implant an artificial knee. Glory hallelujah! I have had surgery #1 where my knee was removed and an antibiotic-coated spacer was inserted. Step needed due infection history. Docs afraid a few renegade staph cells could be hiding somewhere.
So, 3 weeks from today I get the actual knee. I know rehab will be tough, but so has been 6 months of not walking.
I decided to take a chance and apply for 2 shows. I cancelled on the June one, for obvious reasons.
BUT, come to Berea, OH for the Berea Arts Fest.

I am completely confident that I will be able to put on a good show, so come out to see me and my one-of-a-kind jewelry. Some of the pieces on this blog will be available for purchase. Special requests? contact me.
I plan to apply for a few more shows in the Fall and during the holidays. So stay tuned!

Metalsmithing Poodle

This blog has morphed into an observation and reflection of life as an artist. I am a Denver based metalsmith who works in a call center by day, sells jewelry by night, and fills the rest of the waking hours practicing parkour. I am the founder of Purple Poodle Designs and I am the events coordinator for the Colorado Metalsmithing Association.
